Thomas Edison. Alexander Graham Bell. Nikola Tesla. Bill Gates. Elon Musk. These are all names of great innovators, past and present. They’ve helped changed the world for the better with their inventions and discoveries including electricity, the telephone, computers and electric cars.
The Useless Box, however, is not a monumental invention by any stretch of the imagination (although you could argue that it wouldn’t exist without the discovery of electricity). In fact, it’s really just a mindless waste of technology, but boy is it amusing to watch in action!
If you haven’t seen a Useless Box before, it’s basically just a box with a switch on it. When you flip the switch, a hatch opens up and a little lever pops out to flip the switch back to the off position. And that’s it. That’s all it does. It serves no other purpose.
Not only does this useless piece of technology exist in our world today, but you can even buy a kit to build one yourself. But hey, if you’ve got a bunch of free time on your hands, might as well, right?
